Fitch Calls On Premier To Put Moratorium On So-Called Seniors Asset Grab

The opposition Conservatives aren’t letting go of this so-called seniors asset grab with interim leader Bruce Fitch calling on Premier Brian Gallant in the provincial Legislature to put a moratorium in place for a year and to let a committee to be formed to study it.

Gallant defending the government’s policy requiring wealthier seniors to pay more for their nursing home care, saying it is progressive and fair.

He says they’re doing this so they can gain the fiscal capacity for many years to come to provide strong social programs.
