Former Hostage Now Facing A Number Of Charges In Canada

A 34 year old Perth-Andover man who along with his US wife was held captive in Afghanistan by the Al-Haqqani network for five years, is expected to appear in court today to face a number of charges.

CTV News is reporting Joshua Boyle is facing eight charges of assault, two sexual assault,two unlawful confinement, one misleading police, uttering death threats and causing someone to take a noxious substance.

The alleged offences are said to have occured since he returned to Ottawa.

Just last month Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed Boyle’s family, including three children his wife had in captivity, to his office.
