Former MLA Ann Breault Has Died

A former Liberal MLA and cabinet minister in the St. Stephen area has died.

Ann Breault passed away on Sunday at the age of 82, according to her obituary.

Breault was first elected as MLA for the riding of St. Stephen-Milltown in 1987.

She represented the riding, which later became Western Charlotte, until retiring from politics in 1999.

Breault held several portfolios during her nearly 12-year term, including health and community services; municipalities, culture and housing; and income assistance.

Outside of politics, Breault worked as a teacher, a nurse, and a journalist.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon.
