Former N.B. NDP Leader Dies At 83

A man who led the New Brunswick NDP for nearly a decade has passed away at the age of 83.

George Little died at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, according to his obituary.

Little was the leader of the provincial New Democrats from 1980 to 1988.

During that time, the party received more than 10 per cent of the vote for the first time and won seats in the legislature.

Little also taught at Simonds High School in Saint John, where he was head of the English department for more than 30 years.

A family memorial will take place at a later date.
