Former YSJ president takes over Commissionaires NB and PEI

A former president and CEO of the Saint John Airport (YSJ) is taking on a new role.

Derrick Stanford is the new CEO of Commissionaires New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Stanford presided over years of record-breaking passenger growth at YSJ from 2016 to 2021 and helped attract new routes and carriers to the airport.

He then went on to lead the eCommerce division at Brunswick News before becoming vice-president at Postmedia after it acquired the company.

Stanford has also held senior roles at Heineken, McCain Foods and Labatt in the consumer goods sector, as well as Corel, OpenText, Aliant, Desire2Learn and Intelex in the technology sector.

“The Board of Governors is very excited to have Mr. Stanford join our team and to have him lead Commissionaires into its second century,” Brad White, chair of the board of governors, said in a news release.

“We are confident that his extensive experience will serve the Corps very well in the years to come.”

Commissionaires is a security company that employs Canadian Armed Forces veterans and others.
