Former premier Frank McKenna has gotten in front of a video camera to serve as an ambassador for the Nature Conservacy of Canada.
In the video, McKenna shares his experience with donating to the organization and his appreciation for nature having grown up on a farm.
“As you grow up you realize that not everybody in the country has access to the same resource,” he says, “and so it emphasizes to you the importance of preserving special land and precious resources in New Brunswick and in Canada so that everybody will have access to those and they’ll be preserved in perpetuity.”
He talks about donating $100,000 to the NCC to help preserve land and salmon pools along a tributary of the Miramichi River, donated in honour of his friend Robert Kenny.
McKenna encourages everyone who cares about nature to donate to the organization.
