It was a real surprise for the Friars sisters earlier this week at their “Let’s Celebrate” Concert at Imperial Theatre. Mayor Don Darling presented the sisters, well known for their philanthropic nature and excellent fundraising efforts, the Freedom of the City, one of the oldest and highest honours granted by Saint John Common Council.

The Friars sisters, over the last 15 years with their sold-out concerts, have raised more than one million dollars for a number of charities including. They are Safe Harbour, Mindcare New Brunswick, Horizon Health Network, The Alzheimer’s Society, Chron’s and Colitis Foundation and the five priority neighbourhoods.
