In the National League, the Washington Nationals setting a team record with 41 and a third consecutive scoreless innings after a 7-0 win over Atlanta…..The Los Angeles Dodgers stayed one game ahead of San Francisco in the N-L West with a 4-0 win over the Cubs while the Giants also won, 13-8 over San Diego. The Central Division leading St. Louis Cardinals swept Miami 5-1.
In New Brunswick Senior Baseball, the Moncton Fisher Cats shut out the Saint John Alpines 6-0.
Boston Bruins have traded forward Carl Soderberg to the Colorado Avalanche for a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.
The East Coast Games getting underway today……The actual competition starts at 5 this afternoon with basketball at U-N-B Saint John.
