Friday Morning Sports For October 2nd

In the Majors, the Yankees clinched a playoff spot with a 4-1 win over the Red Sox. Masahiro Tanaka is expected to pitch in the wildcard playoff……..The Blue Jays lost to Baltimore 6-4 and are tied with Kansas City with the best record in the American League. Houston has a one game lead over both Minnesota and the Los Angeles Angels for the second wildcard heading into the last weekend of the regular season.

In the NFL, Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker got a 42-yard field goal to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers in the final seconds of regulation time and then made a 52 yarder with 5:08 left in overtime to give the Ravens a 23-20 win.

The Sea Dogs play the Gatineau Olympiques tonight at the Station starting at 7:30 and the Saint John Vitos are playing the Charlottetown Islanders in Major Midget hockey at the Q-Plex tonight with an 8:00 start.
