The National Basketball League’s Most Valuable Player, Anthony Anderson has signed a one year contract with the Mill Rats. Anderson led the league in scoring last season, averaging over 24 points a game.

In the NFL, the Atlanta Falcons led 35-0 before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers even picked up a first down en route to a 56-14 win. Devin Hester set an NFL record with his 20th return for a touchdown.

In the Majors, Derek Jeter turned on R.A. Dickey’s fastball, sent it deep into the left-field seats for his first homer at Yankee Stadium in 14 months. The Yankees edged the Blue Jays 3-2, scoring the winning run on an error……Seattle is just one game out of the wildcard after a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

In the National League Central, Pittsburgh got by the Red Sox 3-2 but St. Louis outlasted Milwaukee in 13 innings, 3-2 to maintain a two and a half game lead…….In the West, the Dodgers doubled up on the Cubs 8-4 to open up a 2 and a half game lead on the idle Giants.
