It’s just a matter of time before the Fundy Rose will take over completely for the Princess of Acadia.
Ship Captain David Doucet sailed the ferry from Greece to Saint John, he says it was smooth sailing the entire time.
Doucet says the Fundy Rose has twice as much horsepower compared to the Princess of Acadia and sails better in winter conditions.
He says the new ferry will shave off roughly 45 minutes of travel time compared to the old ferry.
The ferry was purchased from a private ferry operator in Greece for roughly $44 million dollars Canadian.
