Garage Fire In East Saint John

Saint John fire crews spent three hours last night on the scene of a fire in a detached garage located at the intersection of Loch Lomond Road and Consumers Drive.

It was called in around 9:54 and upon arriving, crews found the fire in the basement and put it out but needed to vent the building to release hot gases and smoke.

A search was done and the all-clear was given, Saint John Energy disconnected the power from a nearby vacant home.

The Saint John Fire and Police departments are now investigating the cause of the fire.
