Gas Caps Missing From Vehicles Along Douglas Avenue

It seems someone may have been trying to siphon gas from vehicles parked along Douglas Avenue in Saint John.

Several homeowners living along the busy street woke up Wednesday to find the gas caps missing from their vehicles.

Saint John police say an officer on patrol around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday noticed about half a dozen vehicles with their gas caps removed.

In an email to our newsroom, Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca said this suggests someone had been siphoning gas.

“No suspect(s) were located and no reports of theft had been received,” Rocca wrote in the email.

Anyone with information should contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333.
