There’s some relief coming at the pumps this weekend.
According to an industry source, the Energy and Utilities Board plans to use the interrupter clause Friday night and drop the maximum price of regular gas by 6.2 cents a litre.
It will bring the maximum price of regular back under $2, to about $1.95.
No change is expected in diesel prices.
In Nova Scotia, maximum regular self-serve prices currently range from $1.95 to $1.97 per litre while diesel is selling for between $2.20 and $2.22 per litre.
On Prince Edward Island, the maximum prices are currently $2.03 a litre for regular self-serve, $2.38 per litre for diesel and more than $1.76 per litre for home heating oil.
The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board normally adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
