Gas Prices To Rise, Along With Carbon Tax

Gas prices are on the rise again this week across the province.

New Brunswick’s carbon tax increase will also take effect on April 1st.

President of Canadians for Affordable Energy Dan McTeague says that combined with adjustments by the Energy and Utilities Board at midnight tonight, expects that will mean a hike of over three cents a litre for gas.

Diesel is also expected to rise by over two cents.

During the budget this month, the provincial government announced a carbon tax increase of 2.21 cents for gas and 2.68 cents for diesel.
