Wage equality in Canada would be good for the economy according to a new report from the McKinsey Global Institute. It warns progress has stalled over the past 20 years and, at current rates, gender gaps could take 30 to 180 years to close.
The report on advancing women’s equality in Canada points out although 53 percent of the degree holders are female, women are a minority of corporate leaders.
It estimates advancing women’s equality in Canada could add $150 billion to the economy by 2026, $1.6 billion of that in New Brunswick.
