Canada’s governor-general Julie Payette invested 34 members into the Order of Canada at a ceremony at Rideau Hall today, including Gerry Pond of Rothesay.
Gerry Pond is described as a champion of entrepreneurship in the information and communications technology sector.
He was the CEO of NBTel and the president of its successor Aliant TeleCom, he is the co-founder of Mariner and the Pond-Deshpande Centre at the University of New Brunswick and Pond has also co-founded various successful start-ups in Atlantic Canada.
