A billboard in Saint John is designed to start a conversation about the killing of animals for food, clothing and entertainment.
The Vegan Education Group NB put up the poster which contains the caption “Why love one but eat the other?” and show a dog and a cow.
Spokesperson Bill Wilson says the group wants to help people become vegan through educational and peaceful means.
“It’s a plant-based diet, the diet aspect but it goes beyond that, it’s also a lifestyle that encompasses avoiding exploitation, cruelty, harming of being, humans included,” says Wilson.
VEG NB’s billboard campaign was crowdfunded with support from a group called Save Movement Canada.
Wilson says the group’s goal is not to put animal farmers out of business but rather urge them to switch to plant-based farming.
