Gold In Fredericton To Recognize Children With Cancer

It is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

In an effort to honour those affected by pediatric cancers, gold will light up part of the legislative assembly building in Fredericton over the next few days.

One in 285 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20. At any time, more than 1,500 Canadian children and their families are dealing with childhood cancer.

The gold, also helps to recognize riders of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, who will also completing their New Brunswick leg of the tour over the next few days.

The cross Canada event, raises money that directly funds research and support programs for pediatric cancer.

The legislative assembly will remain lit up until Friday.
