Grand Bay-Westfield finalizes 2026 budget

Residents of Grand Bay-Westfield will see increases in their property tax rates next year.

The town approved its 2026 budget at a meeting Nov. 10.

Tax rates will go up in both wards of the town.

In Ward 1, the rate will increase 2.5 cents to $1.275 per $100.

In Ward 2, the rate will jump five cents to $0.7932 per $100.

Council also approved the following:

  • Total operating budget of $9,446,900
  • Total capital budget of $2,187,560
  • A warrant to the local government of $8,349,362

The sewerage user rate will increase by $10, to a cost of $390 per unit, effective Jan. 1.

A news release from the town said the budget supports council’s strategic priorities of smart growth, organizational capacity, infrastructure and climate adaptation, and community vitality.
