On behalf of Tourism Minister John Ames, MLA Rick Doucet says the community was chosen because of it’s great mix of urban and rural life.
Doucet says the purpose is to draw people to the community.
He says we’ll have a lot of New Brunswickers and others travelling and if they notice something is happening later on maybe they will come back.
With this announcement, the town of Grand Bay-Westfield gets $25,000 in provincial funding.
Mayor Grace Losier tells us one of the requirements is to put a committee together and they have a meeting booked next week with staff from the Department of Tourism.
