Green Party Candidate Says Air Is Making People In East Saint John Sick

The people in Saint John East are in a terrible situation when it comes to the quality of the air they’re breathing and their health is suffering. So says Green Party candidate Sharon Murphy who tells CHSJ News they have been let down by the M-L-A`s and people in the provincial government who are supposed to be protecting them.

Murphy says the people in the riding she has spoken to are suffering from immune system disorders, extreme fatigue, breathing difficulties, thyroid disease, brain fog and difficult pregnancies. She predicts the emissions in that part of Saint John will only get worse.

Murphy has scheduled a meet and greet tonight. It gets underway at 6:00 in Silver Falls Memorial Hall.

Green Party Leader David Coon met with local landowners in Penobsquis to reiterate his party’s plan to ban shale gas exploitation as well as cancel all exploration and production licenses.

Standing with Sussex-Fundy-St. Martins Green Party Candidate Stephanie Coburn, Coon argues New Brunswick is missing out on opportunities to create real, long term jobs that provide families and communities with vital economies and a healthy environment.

He questions why would we want short term, dirty, dangerous jobs in the shale gas field.
