Guilty Pleas After East Side Police Operation

Saint John police say two people charged following a police operation on the east side last week have entered guilty pleas.

Police say officers searched two properties on Rothesay Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue on Wednesday.

They seized more than 2.4 kilograms of what is believed to be cocaine, along with 682 grams of what is believed to be crystal meth.

Officers also found $11,365 in cash, along with packaging material, scales, score sheets, vacuum sealers, and cell phones.

Police say a 52-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of precursor equipment, and proceeds of crime.

The man and woman pleaded guilty on Monday and are scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 4.
