Hampton employee pepper-sprayed during theft

Mounties are looking for information from the public as they investigate a theft at a Hampton business.

A man entered the Main Street business and stole lottery tickets around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect pepper-sprayed a worker in the face before fleeing in a white compact four-door hatchback.

Police said the employee was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The individual was wearing a camouflage jacket, jeans, and carrying a black motorcycle helmet.

Police have released a surveillance footage photo of the vehicle in hopes someone may recognize it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampton RCMP at 506-832-5566 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
