Health Canada has approved Pfizer’s bivalent vaccine for children ages 5-11
It targets the original strain of the coronavirus and more recent variants.
The vaccine was approved after a thorough review.
Health Canada stated it has found the vaccine is safe and effective and that its benefits outweigh any potential risks when used as a booster dose.
The child-sized vaccine is about a third of the dose that is approved for people over the age of 12.
