Provincial Health Minister Victor Boudreau has decided to recuse himself from any decisions on Parlee Beach because there could be a perception of a conflict of interest. Boudreau met with the conflict of interest commissioner and says he was told by him there is no real conflict of interest.
Boudreau was questioned in the Legislature last week by Conservative M-L-A Brian MacDonald about poor water quality test results not being reported to the public.
Boudreau concedes mistakes were made and improvements are needed which is why a review of the current system is underway but MacDonald questioned why public health doesn’t oversee the testing.
