Heat Warning For Much Of N.B.

The calendar might say early June, but it will feel more like early August over the next couple of days.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for southern and central New Brunswick.

High temperatures will approach 34°C in some areas Monday with humidex values between 38 and 43.

Similar conditions can be expected Tuesday, with highs close to 33°C and humidex values between 36 and 41.

Areas along the Fundy coast will be generally cooler, with highs in the mid-20s. Temperatures will turn cooler over all areas on Tuesday night.

“Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion,” said the national weather agency.

New Brunswickers are urged to reduce their heat risk by scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.
