UPDATE: Armed Robbery In The North End

Police say three people have been arrested after an armed robbery in Saint John’s north end.

Sgt. Kent Atherton said they were called to Adelaide Street shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

Atherton said two women and a man were later taken into custody at a nearby residence.

He would not say where the robbery took place or what kind of weapon was used, but did confirm no one was hurt.

Adelaide Street was closed to traffic between Newman Street and Visart Street for nearly three hours while police investigated.

Police vehicles could be seen at both ends of Adelaide Street and on Harrington Street.

An officer on scene said there was no danger to the public.
