Higgs Vows Not To Let Up On Property Tax Assessments

The Legislature resumes sitting tomorrow and number one on the hit parade, as far as the opposition is concerned, is inflated property tax assessments.

Provincial Conservative leader Blaine Higgs suspects Premier Brian Gallant is hoping to alleviate the pressure by having judge investigate. His findings are not expected until August and Higgs believes the Premier is hoping people will have forgotten by that time.

He thinks the Premier wants to get rid of Service NB and shift its responsibilities to an outside agency.

Higgs argues trust has been broken and when that happens, a government has to go. He earlier called on the Premier to resign.
