High Gas Prices May Pause Summer Road Trips

Is the cost of living these days forcing you to delay your summer road trip?

A new survey found about 66 per cent of drivers plan to put off or limit road trips.

The poll by the Tire and Rubber Association discovered the number jumps to 75 per cent for younger drivers between 18 and 24 years old.

Gas prices typically are higher in the summer due to more demand.

Meantime, the survey also finds Atlantic Canada drivers are pessimistic about the future of fuel prices.

Eighty-one per cent believe today’s gas prices are the “new normal” and will be with us for a long time to come.

The record-high prices are due to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
