High Winds Lead To Scattered Power Outages

Another windy Thursday saw power knocked out to thousands of homes and businesses throughout New Brunswick.

NB Power is reporting around 50 customers without power in the province as of 8 a.m. Friday.

The outages are mainly in central, southeastern and northeastern parts of the province.

It is expected most customers should have their power restored by early Friday afternoon.

Thursday’s wind gusts reached as high as 81 km/h in Bathurst, 76 km/h in Moncton, 70 km/h in Saint John and 69 km/h in Fredericton.

Gusty winds are expected to continue throughout the day on Friday, which could lead to more outages.
