Hope, Respect, and Real Conversations with Saint John Youth

Today was a great experience listening to 12 presentations from grade 9 and 10 students at Ecole Samuel de Champlain about Homelessness and Policing issues in Saint John.

Their teacher Ben Morrison (one of my former students) did a great job and the kids were very respectful.

I had a chance to talk to a couple students about Trauma and they asked me how can we prevent it?

I know the answer is multi dimensional but I did tell them that I try to practise kindness, listening, acceptance, caring and trying to make sure people don’t feel lonely and feel supportive.

Loneliness is very hard. It’s one reason I love sports so much- teams, having each others back!

I tried to do that in teaching, coaching, working with volunteers or running a business or organization.

Love ❤️ Saint John, NB
