Hopewell Rocks has proven to be a popular spot this summer.
Property Manager Noel Hamann says the crumbling of their infamous Elephant Rock has been a big attraction, “Some people have said it looks like a Baby Elephant, while others wanted us to hold a contest to name the new rock formation.”
Hamann says they haven’t pursued a contest, because they prefer that every visitor use their own imagination to decide what the rock formations look like.
“Although our site map does show anecdotal names that we have given the rocks over time, our guests find great pleasure over time in looking for shapes in the rocks and giving them names,” he adds.
