Horizon Health Records A Surplus

Horizon Health wound up with a surplus of more than $700 thousand which is considered small compared to the overall budget.

President and C-E-O Karen McGrath delivered her first annual report since taking over early this year, warning Horizon Health can’t be all things to all people all the time. She elaborates by saying the health network can’t be a social services agency as well and the expectations people might harbour have to be managed.

Concern was expressed about continuing congestion at Moncton Hospital.

Dr. John Dornan will be stepping down as Chief of Staff at the Regional Hospital later this summer after six years. Horizon Health also expects to have a full complement of thoracic surgeons in place by the fall.

Saint John police officers received 40 hours of crisis intervention training to help them better deal with people who have mental health problems.
