Horizon Looks For Help With COVID-19 Outbreak

Horizon Health has an urgent need for staffing at the Saint John Regional Hospital and at COVID-19 assessment centres in Saint John and Fredericton.

The organization is looking for clinical and non-clinical staff interested in volunteering for a 15-day deployment to any of these facilities.

Maura McKinnon is the chief human resource officer for Horizon Health.

“This call applies to a variety of staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists, personal care attendants, medical laboratory assistants, and administrative staff,” said McKinnon in a statement.

“Horizon is also looking to students, retirees and members of its communities to assist with the outbreak, should the need arise.”

McKinnon noted the health authority expected to hire 20 additional staff Thursday through its expedited process.

In a statement, Horizon Health said they appreciate the outpouring of support and encourage those interested to visit their online Pandemic Support portal.
