Horizon Opens More COVID Assessment Centre

More COVID-19 assessment centres are opening up in rural areas of New Brunswick.

Horizon Health is opening three temporary centres, including one at Gateway Mall in Sussex and another at a yet-to-be-determined location in Sackville.

Vice-president Jean Daigle said the locations were selected strategically and are positioned in regional service hubs.

“Having these new COVID-19 assessment centres in place will help to reduce the social and financial burden of having to travel longer distances to receive COVID-19 testing and should encourage more people to get tested and help control the spread of the virus,” Daigle said in a news release.

Horizon said the centres in Sussex and Sackville will start taking appointments in the coming days.

A third location at Perth-Andover Baptist Church began taking appointments Friday.
