A big boost in housing sales last month in the area after a slow first half of the year.
The Saint John Real Estate Board is reporting 205 homes were sold last month. That’s a five per cent increase from a year earlier and is a five year high for the month.
This is just the fourth time in history that July sales have topped 200.
The average price for homes sold last month locally was almost 183 thousand dollars, an increase of eight per cent from the same month last year.
