Housing Starts See April Dip

New housing starts to the end of April are down 50-percent in the greater Saint John area compared to the same period last year.

Canada Mortgage and Housing says only 69-new units have been started so far this year – down from 138 a year ago.

The federal agency reports new home construction down by similar numbers in both Moncton and Fredericton.
