Confederation Bridge reopens after crash

An update from the RCMP about an incident on the Confederation Bridge on Wednesday morning.

Traffic was stopped going in both directions after a crash.

RCMP say two vehicles collided at around 7:20 am about 5 kilometres from the PEI side.

It’s believed a small car crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a truck hauling a trailer.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Traffic on the bridge was stopped for around 50 minutes and then reduced to one lane while cleanup was done.

RCMP are investigating the cause of the incident..

A Strait Crossing Bridge Limited spokesperson says the bridge has now been fully reopened to traffic.
