Indigenous firefighting crews head to Alberta

Indigenous firefighting crews from New Brunswick are off to Alberta to help battle wildfires.

The team of 16 Wabanaki firefighters are joined by staff members from the New Brunswick Wildfire Management Branch.

New Brunswick became the first Atlantic Canadian province to train and help deploy Indigenous firefighting crews last year.

This is their first deployment of this wildfire season.
