It’s A Very Tough Week For The Homeless

The city’s homeless are feeling the cold worse than anyone at this time of year…..while some people have managed to get into more permanent housing, others are still staying in shelters and looking for other places to stay warm during the day.

Tony Dickinson of Outflow Ministries tells CHSJ News they’re holding an orientation session for people who might be interested in volunteering – and there’s no commitment if you just want to come and see what it involves.

He says the best ways people can help is by volunteering. They have an upcoming orientation at Rivercross mission at 211 Main Street on Monday night at 630.

Dickinson says they are always looking for donations of $5 Tim’s cards to give out to residents so that they have somewhere warm to go when the shelter isn’t open.
