Jared Kushner has been a largely behind-the-scenes figure in the Donald Trump administration but the president’s son-in-law and senior advisor was front and centre today.
Following a meeting with the Senate Intelligence Committee on Russian involvement in the election, Kushner delivered a rare and brief public statement in which he denied any collusion.
“Let me be very clear, I did not collude with Russia nor do I know of anyone else in the campaign who did so,” says Kushner.
“I had no improper contacts, I have not relied on Russian funds for my businesses.”
Kushner goes on to say the record and documents I have voluntarily provided will show that all of my actions were proper and occured in the normal course of events of a very unique campaign.
