K.V. fire crews were called to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of Hampton Road in Rothesay late Friday afternoon.
Division Chief John Codling said crews responded around 4 p.m. to the small fire at a restaurant.
On arrival, crews found the restaurant staff had already put the fire out with an extinguisher.
Firefighters spent some time ventilating smoke from the building.
The cause is being looked into.
A section of Hampton Road was closed to traffic for a short period.
