A former staff member of the late Greg Thompson is hoping to become the next MLA for Saint Croix.
Kathy Bockus has announced she will offer for the Progressive Conservative nomination in the new year.
Bockus was the constituency assistant for former MLA Greg Thompson until his death earlier this year.
She then became a regional assistant for ministers Andrea Anderson-Mason and Carl Urquhart.
Bockus, who has lived in Charlotte County for more than two decades, also spent nearly 17 years as a news reporter.
The PC nomination will take place at the Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen on Jan. 18.
