Kennebecasis Valley High Evacuated As Precaution After Propane Leak

Kennebecasis Valley high school was evacuated as a precaution for a couple of hours today after a propane leak.

The local fire department was called out to the school just after lunch. Platoon Chief Mike Boyle of the KV fire department says there was a small leak from a pipe in the boiler room in the basement.

“In order to do the repair, they needed to remove a pipe,” says Boyle. “In doing that there may have been a small amount of propane that leaked out.”

The students were evacuated to Kennebecasis Baptist Church across the street, and it appears they were in good spirits:

CHSJ News was told that students were returning to school at around 2:30pm.
