Key Industries Latest Recipient Of Donation From Women’s Group

It’s another big donation to a local charitable organization from the group 100 Women Who Care of Greater Saint John.

After hearing pitches from three organizations, Key Industries was awarded a cheque for $24,000.

It now pushes the group’s total since its inception in June of 2013 to $623,490.

The meeting at Lily Lake Pavillion on Tuesday evening also heard how the previous winner in February, L’Arche Saint John used its donation money.

Jennifer Fabrizi, the project coordinator, gave the group an idea about how their money was utilized.

“Thanks to your generous gift we will be able to move forward with a new program we’re calling “L’Arche Connects” which is a 12-week personal development, a small-group program focused on self-care, self-discovery, community-building, empathy, social responsibility, and citizenship. The program facilitates the exploration of four themes through weekly reflections, discussions, hands-on activities, community exploration, and acts of service,” stated Fabrizi

The four themes are: “Who am I?”, “Who can I become?”, “To what can I contribute?”, and “Opening myself to others,” she mentioned.

The 100 Women Who Care will gather again on December 3 to hear pitches again and make another huge donation for the year-end and hear how Key Industries used its donation.
