A feel-good Friday announcement at Key Industries complete with cheering and high-five`s.

All the clients joined Premier Gallant and Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long at the podium after news the province will invest $250,000 towards the renovations of buildings acquired next door to Key Industries’ home base on Charlotte street.

Christine Evans, President and CEO at Key Industries, says they plan to expand existing employment programs in the new space. We asked about one of the existing business there now, a laundromat.

“We are talking about how to expand that as a new social enterprise. Right now we have no plans to remove it plus, it’s meeting a need in the community. There are no laundromats right in the South end area,” Evans says.
