Kings Landing Opens For 43rd Season

New Brunswick’s historic village, located about 20 minutes from Fredericton is opening for the season.

Kings Landing showcases some of the provinces most interesting stories and people, in a series of galleries with more than 40 exhibits, and more than 70,000 artifacts.

Spokesperson Rachel Biggar says their history dates back as far as 1775, “It is very much a hands on experience. The line we always use is, come and make a little history of your own. All sorts of memories to be made with your family.`

Kings Landing opened 43 years ago, “When the Mactaquac Dam was constructed in the 60`s, they wanted to save a lot of the homes. They were moved to Kings Landing and then over a course of a few years they were restored to get the back to the Loyalist Time period.”

This year, the historic village is introducing revamped programming as part of its ongoing experience renewal, and Biggar says there are a number of workshops that will be held, Everyday, we have a `drop in workshop at our welcome centre. If you visit our website, you can find out which workshops are running when.
