Kitten Survives Chemical Burns

He’s a trooper. A 3 month old kitten found with chemical burns in the North end is recovering well.

Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue shelter manager Joan Richardson tells us he was taken to Avenue Animal hospital where he was treated by Dr. Catherine Ostorowski.

She says it appeared to be a chemical burn over part of his head and he required immediated surgery to remove his eye and treat the skin.

Richardson tells us the community really stepped up with donations for the care of Atlas.

He’s back at the shelter and already has someone ready to foster him and adopt him.
