KV High evacuated after threat made against school

Kennebecasis Valley High School has been evacuated following a report of a threat against the Quispamsis school.

The Anglophone South School District said the school will be closed for the rest of the day “out of an abundance of caution” while police investigate the credibility of the threat.

“Buses are en route to pick up students from the nearby off-site muster area, and walkers and student drivers will be dismissed shortly,” the district said in an email to families.

“We thank the individual who brought the threat to our attention, and encourage students to report any unsafe situation or behaviour to an adult.”

Insp. Anika Becker of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force confirmed that they were informed of the situation and are on scene at the school.

“Officers and school officials are working to clear the school to ensure it is safe for students and staff to return,” Becker said in an email just after noon Friday.

“We are confident that the situation will be resolved soon.”

No details have been released about the nature of the threat.
